Data Architecture: The New Backbone of Modern Software
Software engineering has long focused on behavior and neglected the data behind it – a gap that becomes urgent once AI agents need to access that data. We show how data contracts (such as the vendor-neutral Open Data Contract Standard) document structure, meaning, quality and terms of use of data in a machine-readable way, much like OpenAPI does for REST APIs.
